Pastor Phillip L Pete, Sr. Bio

Pastor Pete is the youngest of 4 siblings, born on July 5th, 1971 in Oakland, CA to his proud parents and former pastor Elder Lazarus E Pete and the late Mother Lillian Pete. Pastor Pete was educated in the Richmond Unified school district where he received his formal education. He was an honor roll student and recognized in the local papers for his scholastic achievements. Pastor Pete is also musically inclined and began singing at the tender age of 8. He formed his own musical gospel singing group at the young age of 12 called the Sons of God. The group, which was comprised of 6 young men, traveled to local events, services, and also sang during the New Bethel COGIC Apostolic conventions.

In 1984, at the young age of 14, he received the gift of the Holy Ghost, while attending the New Bethel COGIC Apostolic Church in Richmond, CA under the leadership of his father. He also accepted the call into ministry and started preaching under the leadership of his father and pastor. While in high school at the age 17, he met and began dating his high school sweetheart then Sister Rehema Kamaria Bryant.

After high school, Pastor Pete attended college and pursued a career in the field of Information Technology, where he has been for over 21 years. And in 1991, he took the hand of the love of his life and now wife for 21 years Lady Rehema K. Bryant, in marriage. He is the proud parent of 2 children Seraya Meionna Pete, who is currently attending Grambling State University studying Political Science Pre-Law and Phillip L. Pete Jr., who is currently attending Middle School

In1997, Pastor Pete was officially ordained and licensed as an elder by his father and pastor. And In 1998, Pastor Pete left the New Bethel Church and joined The True Pentecostal Church of Vallejo, CA under the late Elder Alfred Williams, Sr. In 2000, he became the church’s first Youth Pastor over the Young Saints Department under the leadership of Pastor Charles Jordan. During Pastor Pete’s 8 year tenure, there were many accomplishments such as conferences, the re-establishment of the youth choir, the re-establishment of the youth drama ministry, the church’s first youth development center, which included a computer lab and youth training center. In 2008, God elevated him to the office of a pastor, where he faithful tends to the oversight and cares of God’s elect.

Pastor Pete is very passionate about ministry and family. He is considered by many as a true visionary. In 2008, he formed the Next Caleb Corporation in partnership with Chief Ed Dadisho of the Suisun City Police Department, to aid in the efforts of bridging the academic and economic gap between the less fortunate and the fortunate. He has a motto and belief, “If we commit to doing it, let’s do it 150% or don’t do it at all!” He is very adamant about organizational structure and discipline. His belief is that a firm foundation determines the longevity of the mission. God has given him a mandate to build the kingdom of God and restore the broken family.
